Getting Started
Welcome to my8data — your web-based platform for quality management and statistical analyses. This chapter guides you through the first steps: from registration through the dashboard to your profile settings and license information.
Registration & Login
Create an Account
To use my8data, you need a user account. Here's how to register:
- Open the my8data homepage and click Register.
- Enter your email address and a password. The email address also serves as your username.
- Click Create Account.
Important: The password must be at least 8 characters long. Use a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters as well as numbers.
During registration, an organization is automatically created for you. Information about the available license models can be found on the pricing page.
Email Verification
After registration, you will receive a confirmation email at the address provided. Click the link in it to verify your email address.
Important: You can only log in after successful verification. Without verification, your account is inactive.
Tip: If you don't receive a confirmation email, check your spam folder. You can request the confirmation email again from the login page — click the displayed link "Resend confirmation email". Resending is possible every 5 minutes.
- Open the my8data homepage.
- Enter your email address and password.
- Click Sign In.
After signing in, you will be redirected directly to the dashboard. my8data keeps track of your login streak — sign in regularly to maintain your streak.
Info: For security reasons, a maximum of 10 login attempts per minute are allowed. If there are too many failed attempts, you will be asked to wait briefly.
Reset Password
If you have forgotten your password:
- Click Forgot password? on the login page.
- Enter the email address of your account.
- You will receive an email with a link to reset your password.
- Click the link and create a new password (at least 8 characters). Confirm the new password by entering it again.
Info: For security reasons, the reset link is valid for 2 hours. A new reset link can only be requested after 20 minutes. For security reasons, the same message is always displayed — regardless of whether the email address exists.
Seminar Enrollment
If you are participating in a seminar, you can enroll with an enrollment code:
- Open the Enroll page (you will receive the link from your seminar instructor).
- Enter your email address and the enrollment code.
- If you don't yet have an account, you will be asked to create a password.
- You will automatically receive access to the seminar and its associated analysis modules.
The Dashboard
After signing in, you will reach the dashboard — your central overview in my8data. The dashboard greets you with a time-of-day-dependent message (e.g., "Good morning, Max!").

Activities
At the bottom of the dashboard is the Activity Feed. It shows your recent actions in chronological order — for example, saved, opened, or deleted analyses.
The feed is expanded by default and can be collapsed or expanded by clicking on the Activities heading.
